Thiago

A Spanish radio station is reporting that Pep Guardiola has stepped in to snap up Thiago Alcantara from under Manchester United’s nose.

There has been little progress in United’s move for the midfielder despite confirmed interest from the club, and now it appears that Thiago’s former boss has swooped to take him to Germany.

Journalist Juanmo Castano appeared on Spanish radio station COPE  claiming that he had been told by a reliable source that Thiago, having received offers from United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, would be heading to the Bavarian club.

“First, we have been told that Thiago Alcantara’s future is not at Barca.

“Second, we have been told the club he has chosen. The club Thiago has chosen is Bayern Munich.

“This is from a very credible source, a source that is, lets say, directly linked to the footballer.”

Castano went on to say:

“Thiago knew that there were several players in his position, but was told by Pep Guardiola on the phone that he was moving Javi Martinez to centre back as Marcelo Bielsa did with him at Athletic Bilbao.”

Castano would go on to cover his bases by saying due to the nature of the transfer window, his report should be taken with a pinch of salt(?)

Whilst every United fan would love to see Thiago at Old Trafford, I think as with Sneijder the whole thing is becoming tedious and that a resolution is needed sooner rather than later.

I find this all rather tedious and incredible. German clubs do not entertain release clauses, let alone playing time clauses in their contracts. Bayern’s midfield would questionably be as hard to break into as Barcelona’s. Pep promised that he would not go in for Thiago.
If United wanted this player so badly they would have activated the release clause a long time ago and worried about the time management, VAT and associated issues in the negotiations process. I think we are more interested in acquiring new sponsors than we are new players!!!

Dejavu…lucas moura, Eden Hazard, Sneijder, and now Alcantara…well well how disappointing…i wonder wat moyes really meant wen he said that the team is really working hard behind the scenes to get their targets…anyway i think united will again miss out on another massive player and they will again compete without a creative midfield…well atleast we can seek “solace” by admiring Tom Clevery our next “Paul scholes” , our flying 1D antonio valencia, Brainless and injury prone ashley young and finally the inconsitent Nani…Sadly this time we dont even have the backing of Sir Alex…Sad to say this but I predict no trophies for united next season.

Am tired about this Thiago, its lyk he doesnt want to join utd and so lets go 4 someone else.we’ve got many players who can do better job in our midfield and are willing to join utd.we are not desperate 4 him,let him go 2 Buyern coz thats what he is waiting.it wil be sad 2 see the guy warming the bench lyk he did in Barca.

Actually am wondering why moyes in silent n relaxed about this saga.we have enough funds to sign Thiago but moyes seems to be a bit relaxed.well if by all means we miss to sign Thiago, then moyes MUST sign Strootman n another attacking midfielder if not so, then Adnan Januzaj must be given 1st team action

Moyes has been employed due to his knack of spending little/no money and so far so good on that account…

If we don’t get Thiago, heads must row, what kind of transfer policy is that, wait to the eleventh hour and for other teams to snatch our targets.
