David Moyes has confirmed that Manchester United’s attempts to bring in new players are progressing well.

David Moyes confirmed that United would be bringing in new faces and that the club would try to get deals done before heading off on the pre season tour of Asia and Australia.

Whilst it wasn’t possible to get this done, Moyes has confirmed that United are actively pursuing their targets and things are going well.

“There are targets we’re chasing at this moment in time.At this moment in time, we’re happy with how things are going.”

As with the manager before him, Moyes is being extremely coy in regards to who he is looking at but with Thiago Alcantara thought to be a United target, hopefully he is one of the players Moyes is talking of.

Moyes also hit back at Jose Mourinho after the Chelsea manager again complemented Wayne Rooney, saying:

“He’s a player that I like very much. Being fast and direct I like him very much, but he’s a Manchester United player.”

Mourinho made a similar statement last month but Moyes isn’t concerned with Mourinho’s sly courting:

”People are entitled to talk about good players.

“I’m sure Jose has been asked about lots of players as well. I’ll keep repeating myself: Wayne is a Manchester United player and he’ll remain that.”
