Where do Manchester United & Rooney Go Now?

Sky Sports News are reporting that Manchester United have rejected a bid from Chelsea this morning.

Manchester United have remained adamant that Rooney is not for sale, especially not to Chelsea and are said to have expressed this to the London club when rejecting their bid.

It has not been confirmed what Chelsea’s bid entailed but the certain and swift response from United leads many to believe that it was below any figure United would potentially consider to do business at.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has courted Rooney this summer, but when asked on Rooney again Jose simply replied:

“This is a period when the big clubs and their managers are connected with everything.
“Until August 31, that’s the oldest story in football, rumours and rumours. At the end, something comes true.”

Chelsea remain favourites to sign the striker, but with United’s stance will they be able to prise the striker away from Old Trafford?

EDIT: James Ducker of The Times claims the offer was £10m & Mata or Luiz whilst Jamie Jackson of The Guardian believed the deal only allowed United the option to buy either player.

I can blieve moyes can said such words to rooney saying he will be a back up for vp if he has injury. Rooney that has been in our team for 9yrs and always outstanding now he need him for back up for vp if Moyes knows that rooney is no more fit for the club then they allow him to go to any club that brings offer afterall moyes is tryin to say rooney is flop but they are all afraid of selling to chelsea but they should let him go since his not fit for the first team again by moyes. Rooney is flop but has much assist last season, rooney is flop but did most assist for vp,rooney is flop but tried his best for mu during the time vp did not score, rooney is flop but sealed PL victory for us against aston by doing assist for vp. Let him leave, let him go. If mu is not afraid let him go to chelsea. I love u rude boy. One united

  6. hakeem says:

Its not fair to treat a player of rooney’s calibre who has given everything for Man U. To say rooney to be used as a second fiddle to rvp just doesn’t make sense because after all rvp scored with most assists coming from WR. Though i.m a Mu fan , the treatment of wr is completely unfair

  7. manu fan says:

man united must seriously sell wayne or must giv him a new contract.. wats wit not lettin him go n david moyes must watch his mouth.. lik really..

  8. Bulletproof says:

Dave Moyes is useless n he’ll destroy man utd, better sack him earlier than expected

  9. abdulrashid itopa says:

We need him much but him stay with david moyes n forgive for his little buz knowledge.

  10. Dean says:

I say yes to Mata and £10m.

People need to realise that the figures Man Utd are paying Rooney are the same as Ronaldo at Real… but he scored a goal per game last season and pretty much every season since he left.
