Varela signs 5 year deal

A representative of Guillermo Varela has told a radio station in Argentina that he is working on a deal to take the right back to Boca Juniors.

Varela joined United last month, but went straight to Turkey for the u20 World Cup where he finished as a runner up.

Boca, who had been monitoring Varela since his impressive displays in the South American u20 championships, are said to been impressed further by his displays in Turkey and are interested in taking the defender on loan for the seas.

Speaking to Radio 9 Buenos Aires, Varela’s representative Paul Betancourt said of a proposed move:

“Varela may join Boca from United.

“Boca had been following Varela, but he joined Manchester United but I’m managing the situation with United and with Guillermo to see if he may play on loan at Boca “.

It was believed that Varela would act as back up for Rafael, but if a deal is struck it could see brother Fabio covering both flanks for United if called upon by Moyes.
