With David Moyes confirming Manchester United’s move for Cesc Fabregas, Barcelona have again attempted to close the door on a potential transfer by claiming the player is ‘non transferable’.

Speaking from Sydney, Moyes confirmed United were in the market for Cesc and claimed that he would have a better idea on where they stood in 24 hours but he now has his answer.

It was always going to be hard to prise Cesc away from Barcelona, especially after the midfielder told Tito Vilanova that he wanted to stay at the Catalan club but United persisted with the move, in the knowledge that the right fee could force Barcelona to sell.

But the club’s vice president Josep Maria Bartomeu has settled the matter, telling Catalan paper Sport that they will not entertain any offers for the player:

“Barça can confirm that we will not entertain any offers for Cesc.

“Fàbregas is regarded as completely non-transferable”.
