Fabregas

Manchester United will be left in limbo in their pursuit for Cesc Fabregas following reports that Barcelona will not make a decision on the midfielder until a new manager is appointed.

Tito Vilanova was forced to step down as manager last week after resuming his battle with throat cancer, leaving Barcelona in uncertainty. It is believed that former Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink resigned as manager of Anzhi Makhachkala yesterday afternoon with the view to taking over at Barcelona and United will hope that this is a speedy process.

David Moyes confirmed on Monday that United were awaiting Barcelona’s response to a second offer for Fabregas after a first bid was rejected last week, but United could will have to wait because the Catalan club will be seeking the opinion of their incoming manager before deciding on Fabregas’ future.

In other news Barcelona captain Carles Puyol doesn’t believe that Fabregas will leave the Nou Camp for Old Trafford.

Speaking on the club’s official Twitter stream, Puyol said of his fellow La Masia graduate:

“I do not think that Cesc will leave Barca.”
