Having been labelled one of Manchester United’s most promising youth stars, Adnan Januzaj is close to agreeing a new deal at Old Trafford.

The 18 year old was named Reserve Player Of The Year as Warren Joyce‘s u21 side did an impressive treble including winning the inaugural u21 Premier League.

He found himself included in Sir Alex Ferguson‘s last ever team as United manager, on the bench at the Hawthornes but failed to make it on to the field in the hectic 5-5 draw but David Moyes has recognised his talent and has kept him in the first team picture this summer.

Included in the travelling part for United’s tour of Asia and Australia, Januzaj impressed and has now been named in the squad for the Swansea game on Saturday.

United have been here before and having lost the talented Paul Pogba last summer to Juventus, are moving to ensure that there isn’t a repeat of that debacle by tying the Belgian attacker down on a long term deal to ward off interest from Juventus and Barcelona.

The Guardian claim talks have already taken place and a deal is close to being signed, signalling Januzaj’s transition from a youth to a first team player.
