Cesc Fabregas

WC Fields; actor, comedian and actor.

Ed Woodward and Manchester United may want to make themselves familiar with the American because he could teach them a thing or two.

Fields once said:

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There’s no point in being a damn fool about it.”

And United would do well to heed his words because The Daily Telegraph are reporting Manchester United are preparing yet another bid for Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas, this time to the tune of £40m.

But why? Last I checked the Catalan midfielder declared as plain as day that he would be remaining at the Nou Camp, telling assembled press:

“Triumphing in Barcelona has been my dream since I was a child.

“I am very happy at Barcelona and I haven’t spoken to any other club in the last two years.

“Stories have been invented. I was never given any sign from the club to make me think they didn’t want me, I have always felt wanted here.”

If we and everyone else can see that he won’t be leaving Barcelona this summer, why can’t the club? I think we may need to call an intervention for our Ed, sit him down and tell him how his pursuit of Cesc has hurt us individually.

On a serious note, the time spent chasing a player that has stated he has no interest in leaving his current club could easily have been spent looking at players who are available or may be persuaded to join United. It’s not like they aren’t about.

Luka Modric for example could be available due to the size of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in Madrid.

I think most fans are past the phase of “bring us a star name” and will simply settle on a player that will improve the team (and there is much room for improvement, but you already know that!).

With our title defence kicking off in 2 days, the fact we are yet to add to the squad is disappointing but there is still time to rectify this before the window closes on September 2nd.

Hopefully United direct their efforts in the directions of a player that is actually available.

Both Moyes and Ed, are not interested in success , they don’t know any since they achieved nothing at helm, so pls leave our team and go where u came from. Tired Of hearing pple chasing air.
We court for long time with no plan.
So disappointed with these 2 useless top men in united.

  2. Evans mose says:

Let moyes show us some respect by bringing Ronaldo back without haste big teams are squiring it out on us.

  3. Jimi says:

While chasing unrealistic signings, we lost Strootman who would be a perfect signing for us. There are plenty of good young players out there, why go after established players when you know their clubs are not going to sell.

Here are some of the players we should get: –
    – Christian Eriksen
    – Iker Muniain
    – Viktor Fischer
    – Alen Halilovic
    – Kurt Zouma
    – Geoffrey Kondogbia

Moyes should start thinking about creating his own legacy rather than simply buying other team’s stars.

Guys the Glaziers have taken all the money for buying new players just using Moyes who is already a toy of the owners, bet me they cant sign anyone at the end of the transfer window even if it is extended to December 2013.

Have you lot not realised after the last 7 years that the Glazers do not want to spend money on players!!! They pretend to go after stars but there is always some convenient hiccup and they never get there man!!! They never have this problem when it comes to sponsorship deals, always efficient!!!! Since 2005 they have taken £600 million of our money out of MUFC!!! Our yearly net spending since 2005 has been around £10 MILLION a year. We no longer go for the best talent. Ed Woodward in the summer said that we had £100 MILLION to spend on players, 2 days before the start of the season and we’ve bought Varela for 1 or 2 million! They’ve probably made 3 or 4 million on players sold, so they’ve made a profit of 3 million pounds. We are not longer a serious football club competing for trophies!!!

Like they pretended to go after van Persie? And we seem to win a lot of trophies for a club that isn’t serious about winning.

We bought RVP, Kagawa and Buttner last summer and Jones, Young and de Gea the summer before. That’s £100m in two years with no big sales to balance it out. Since then we’ve bought Zaha. So why would you doubt the club when they say they are trying to spend tens of millions more this summer? It’s on record that they have made bids, you can’t bid for players if you aren’t prepared to spend the money, they might say yes!

I said scholes should come as assistant coach and gave him the suggestion that we should buy a midfielder because we have suffer in that position since roy keane left united.
