Sir Alex has sung the praises of Scott Wootton

Scott Wootton has signed for Leeds United on a 3 year deal this evening.

The 21 year old, who appeared for United in the Capital One Cup and Champions League last season against both Newcastle and Chelsea, joins Brian Mcdermott’s team having previously played for  Tranmere Rovers, Peterborough United (twice) and Nottingham Forest.

McDermott said of his new signing:

“I’m delighted to have agreed the signing of Scott Wootton on a three-year deal. He’s a player who has played in the Champions League and someone we feel will develop with us in the coming years.

“I want to say thanks for the owners in doing the deal and bringing another young player to help us go forward.”

This isn’t the first team Wootton has joined a rival side, as he joined United in 2007 from Liverpool.

Chudi is correct. Elland Road is the most intimidating and best atmosphere I have ever faced. Rivals I miss. For the good of football, let’s hope they come BACK
