Baines vs WBA

Leighton Baines has asked Everton to allow him to move to Manchester United according to reports in tomorrow’s papers.

The left back has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United  this summer but has remained silent amidst speculation, instead concentrating on his football.

Last week United’s interest was confirmed when Everton publicly admonished a £28m joint bid for Baines and team mate Marouane Fellaini, claiming that it was ‘derisory’.

According to The Independent, Baines made it clear earlier in the summer that he would like to join United and with the transfer window closing has continued to make it clear that he would like his club to reach an agreement with the champions.

Everton have thus far ignores Baines’ plea but with United set to make what will be a fourth bid for the 28 year old, may now finally play ball and negotiate.

Already been dismissed as rubbish by Everton.

Good player but simply not needed at united. Evra is still a class player, a captain, a leader, and loaded with big match experience. Fabio is developing. I would be disappointed in this move even though i am a leighton baines fan. I think it is a cold move to force evra out while leaving players like tom cleverly and ashley young in. Much bigger fish to fry at united for mr moyes. Evra has left back fully under control. Fellaini and ozil would be two ideal signings.

Agree completely. I think Moyes wants LB for deadball situations. Only way I’m good with this, is if Patrice is moved to LW/LM. MU has been crying out for deep LW play for the last 2 years. Ashley Young only goes to the edge of the box and then cuts in.

  3. David says:

I dont tink we need bains now evra is ok and we have buttner & fabio so let him stay dere pls, we only need fellaini & ozil.

  4. man utd news says:

man utd should sgn fellaine and baines

  5. D says:

He would force EFC if he turned in a transfer request. MUFC doesn’t need Baines, Evra can do the job.

  6. Charleskaka says:

Everton should let the duo leave

  7. Freeboy says:

The duo are very good signing, baines can as well play at eleven position while evra remain at three position;felaini paring carick will be fantastic, pending any further signing in january or next season

  8. ak says:

Yeah we already got fabio and buttner two brillant player is waiting for evra place and on top united want to by baines that stupid decision i think buy fellaini we lack quality player there. They are wasting time to buy left back oh common moyes. I think that scholes need to come in united staff.

  9. opolot ronald richard says:

the weakest position in uniteds’ squard is the midfield,,we need Fellaini and ozil not Bains coz Evra, buttner and Fabio are all competitive and very good,,Mr Moyes do something for the midfield alone please

  10. akash says:
