Mats Moller Daehli

Molde manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hailed midfielder Mats Moller Daehli, claiming the youngster is as good as Adnan Januzaj.

Januzaj is currently making waves at Old Trafford, with eye catching cameos for David Moyes side whilst the highly rated Daehli, named youth player of the year in 2012, was allowed to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Having been touted as one for the future there was some confusion as to why United sanctioned the transfer, but United’s loss has been Solskjaer’s gain and he talked up the the 18 year old after  he starred in Molde’s win over Lillestrom in the Norwegian Cup last night:

“Mats was simply outstanding.

“The way he just keeps the ball on the ground, calms down and controls the flow of the game for the team. I am delighted!

“A few minutes into the game, I knew I made the right choice starting him.

“He came to Molde for first team football, but he could’ve been at United now, playing for the first team. He’s on par with Adnan Januzaj. They grew up together in the under-18s, and Mats was player of the year.”
