David Moyes has revealed that he sees Adnan Januzaj occupying a more central #10 role in the future, even if he is happy to play the 18 year old out wide for now.

Januzaj was played centrally against Norwich during last week’s Capital One Cup, putting in one of his more impressive performances as United ran out 4-0 winners.

This weekend it was back to the flanks, where he set up Robin Van Persie for United’s second but Moyes believes that the star will eventually end up as a playmaker.

“In time, his best position may be no.10 but, while he’s so young, it’s easy to introduce him off the left or off the right.

“He’s that talented, he can play in several positions and I’m in no hurry to play him as a no.10. I want to keep the reins on him a little bit and keep him disciplined in what he does.”

Januzaj showed he is capable of playing in a number of roles for United’s youth teams. Over the past week there has been much speculation about his future position with assistant manager Steve Round passing comment too, but with Moyes declaring his intentions for Januzaj it makes things all the more exciting.

Wayne Rooney is played in the #10 role but isn’t a playmaker in a true sense of the term, and whilst Kagawa is able to perform in the position has found it impossible to dislodge Wayne Rooney. With Januzaj already in the team showing what he can do in a number of positions, fans will be salivating at the thought of seeing him pull the strings in the middle for years to come.
