Adnan Januzaj was named Manchester United player of the month for October, beating off competition from Wayne Rooney and David De Gea.
The youngster has become a key component to this United side and he showed this in his performances against Sunderland where his brace saved United from another league defeat and the 4-0 victory over Norwich where he ran the show in a central role in particular.
The award comes on the day when United great Gary Pallister insisted that the spotlight be taken off the youngster and he be allowed to develop at his own rate.
Januzaj was the clear favourite picking up a whopping 42 per cent of the vote ahead of Rooney’s 34% and David De Geas 24% and was understandably pleased with this achievement:
“It’s good to be recognised for your performances on the pitch but I realise that I have to work hard and keep progressing as a player. I will try to contribute to the team whenever I play and hopefully play my part in a successful season.”
