Has Mourinho Reignited United’s Interest In Versatile Midfielder?

Fredy Guarin

Reports in Italy claim that that Manchester United have rekindled their interest in Inter Milan’s Fredy Guarin.

Late last year United were linked with a swap deal for the Colombian, with Javier Hernandez touted for a move the other way. That soon died down as rumours of a Chelsea move for the 27 year old surfaced.

As that move stalled Chelsea began to express an interest in resigning Benfica’s Nemanja Matic, and with that move completed this week Guarin’s hopes of a move to Stamford Bridge seem all but dead.

Speaking at his presser ahead of Manchester United’s visit to Stamford Bridge this weekend, Mourinho confirmed that Chelsea’s transfer activity this month was not finished, but was likely to see players leaving rather than coming in.

Coincidentally Sky Italia have reported that United have reignited their interest in 27 year old Guarin, but admit that any potential move is in it’s infancy.

With Anderson leaving the club on loan to Fiorentina, bringing in a new face to bolster an already understrength midfield would make sense, so could Guarin be the man?
