Juan Mata is set to become a Manchester United player after Chelsea accepted a £37m bid for the Spaniard this evening according to The Telegraph.
It had been reported today that United submitted bid for the Spaniard today in the region of £35m and tonight The Telegraph claim that Chelsea are set to let Mata join United for £37m.
Mata joined Chelsea from Valencia for £23.5m in 2011 so will make a handsome on the midfielder whilst Mata is set to double his £70k a week wages.
The Telegraph report:
The Premier League club are not expecting the 25-year-old to return to them and have already made plans for his replacements. A medical has been booked in for Thursday for Mata and personal terms accepted.
Interestingly Sky opted to ask David Moyes no questions on Mata prior to United’s Capital One Cup tie with Sunderland, probably at the behest of the club as they were seemingly still thrashing out a deal for the 25 year old.
