Cardiff starlet Mats Moller Daehli is using former teammate Adnan Januzaj as the blueprint for his career after watching him break into the United first team.
Daehli left Old Trafford this summer to link up with former United striker Ole Gunner Solskjaer at Molde but quickly made his way back to England with Solskjaer to join Cardiff, after rejecting the chance to rejoin United.
Now back in England, Daehli is getting a close up look at former teammate Adnan Januzaj who was promoted into the first team during the summer and has shot to fame after some stellar performances in David Moyes’ side.
Having been close to Januzaj, who he calls a role model, Daehli is looking to emulate his friend and make it big at the Cardiff City Stadium:
“Adnan arrived at United the week after me and we became friends and trained every day together.
“I’ve not been in touch with him so much recently, but I met him when Cardiff played United recently which was good.
“He is a big role model for me in that he is young and he is performing for a big team. He is definitely someone I look up to.
“I am hoping there is more to come from me at Cardiff now, but you need to have the right focus and mentality.
“You must want to improve every day, just like Adnan. You can see how he has improved this season and how brave he is on the pitch and that is something I want to do as well.”
