Borussia Dortmund v FC Bayern Muenchen - DFL Supercup
Manchester United have emerged as favourites to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan according to The Daily Star.

The German international has been sidelined for the majority of the season but is slowly working his way back to fitness, having played an integral part in Borussia Dortmund’s rise to prominence in European football.

With his contract set to expire next summer, the 23 year old is being coveted by Europe’s big boys including Real Madrid and Barcelona but it appears that United are now favourites to sign  him with Dortmund potentially cashing in on the former Nuremberg player rather than losing him for free next summer.

Gundogan has yet to commit his future to Jurgen Klopp’s side and at the start of the year when asked about his future, said:

“I have not made a final decision yet. BVB are the first team I am talking to. I will soon make a well-thought decision. But I am keeping my options open at this point.”

The report also claims that Moyes is still interested in Gundogan’s team mate Marco Reus having expressed an interest in the pacy attacker earlier in the season.
