Louis van Gaal has begun his Old Trafford clear out, with the future looking bleak for the likes of Nani, Tom Cleverley, Anderson and Patrice Evra amongst others.

Van Gaal is set to bring in a flood of new faces this summer to bolster an under performing United side and despite talk of a £200m warchest is likely to supplement his signings with a number of departures.

The Express claim that Van Gaal will be looking to get rid of returning loanee Anderson after a less than spectacular spell at Fiorentina, underperforming Tom Cleverley and winger Nani.

Nani’s case is an interesting one as it was reported that the Dutch manager had nixed a Juventus move for the Portuguese player, preferring to keep him at the club.

Also on the list was Patrice Evra who is still to be handed a new contract and Kiko Macheda who’s United career has been a disappointment since he spectacularly burst onto the scene back in 2009 with a last minute winner against Aston Villa.

Van Gaal has reportedly told United chief exec Ed Woodward of the players he doesn’t require so the club will be looking to move them on.
