Clasie v PSV

The agent of Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie has confirmed that there has been no contact from Manchester United or Fiorentina in regards to the player, but has hinted that the 22 year old could be swayed to join United.

Clasie, along with club and international team mate Bruno Martins Indi, has been linked with a move from Rotterdam to Old Trafford, a move fueled by the appointment of Louis Van Gaal.

Whilst there has been no concrete confirmation of United’s interest in either player, today papers have again linked the pair to United.

Despite the rumours surrounding his player, Clasie’s agent Wessel Weezenberg has insisted that any decision on the player’s future will be made after the World Cup, as he told Calciomercato:

“There has been no contact recently with the Viola or with the Red Devils or with other clubs.

“[Clasie] is focused exclusively on the national team. The opportunity to train daily with a great coach like Van Gaal is very important for him.

“Jordy’s future will probably be decided after the World Cup.”

Despite talking down a transfer right now, Weezenberg’s words will hold hope for United if their interest is proved to be correct because Weezenberg’s declaration of Clasie’s enthusiasm at training with Van Gaal daily clearly puts United in the driving seat if he was available.
