Manchester United are eager to take on Spurs for the signature of West Brom hot-shot Saido Berahino, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The England U-21 star was heavily linked with a move away from The Hawthorns over the summer, but despite numerous late offers from Tottenham, and a threat from the player to go on strike, he remains in the Midlands.

And he is currently firmly back in Tony Pulis’ plans, with the 22-year-old’s recent run of goalscoring form having boosted his reputation, which was already sky high following his 20 goals in 45 appearances last season.

Reports now claim that with United short of attacking options, Louis van Gaal’s side are keeping an eye on Berahino ahead of the looming winter transfer window, with an offer a possibility.

The Red Devils completed a late window move for Anthony Martial last time out, but even with the young Frenchman on board LVG is still short of firepower, with Wayne Rooney’s worrying lack of output a growing concern despite his weekend goal.

Spurs may also make a fresh move for Berahino in January, with their inability to lure him to White Hart Lane during the last window having left them short of options.
