One quarter of possibly United’s most deadly strike force Teddy Sherringham will be fondly remembered for his goal that sparked United’s comeback in the Champions League final in 1999.
A player some regard as one of our finest ever defenders, Rio Ferdinand’s quality and impact can not be questioned. Signed for a huge fee in 2003, Ferdinand has more than justified his fee providing a solid basis from which Sir Alex can work from. His partnership with Nemanja Vidic is particularly impressive and the two were awesome in our double winning 07-08 season which he spent the majority of as captain.
Spent 5 years at Old Trafford and was captain for a spell during this time. Won the FA Cup in 1983.
Not held in particularly high regard by United fans but he played his part in United’s success in the 90s. 2 Premier League trophies, 2 FA Cups, a UEFA Cup Winners Cup and a UEFA Super Cup were all part of his haul in his 6 years.
David Beckham’s celebrity persona can be said to have over shadowed his talent and sadly I feel he is actually underrated. A quality striker of the ball during play and in dead ball situations, his freekicks are legendary but his over all performances up and down the right wing should be commended.
