With the season’s start coming up, United will be looking to take the Premier League back from Chelsea so who better to play than Chelsea themselves in the Community Shield?

Chelsea have looked poor in pre-season albeit using weakened teams but even with a relatively strong squad against Hamburg they were still beaten. United have looked better but were also defeated twice so form isn’t a huge factor. Picking up a trinket will be great for confidence but more important is the psychological advantage winning against a title rival will provide.

Last season we missed out on the title by the thinnest of margins to them so the players will be fired up to get the title back as well as securing the sacred 19th and as Sir Alex has already stated Chelsea, as champions, are the team to beat so getting one up on them now will be a huge boost.

The Community Shield is often looked at as just another pre season game but I think it may have an extra bit of spice this year even if Ancelotti has announced his team prior to the game. Having seen it, bar the omission of Drogba and Cech through injury, it’s a strong team and signals their intentions for the game too.

Last year’s game was a fiery encounter and saw a clash between Evra and Ballack and although I don’t want to see our players getting caught up in incidents like that I hope the game is played with the same enthusiasm. Chelsea are no mugs and despite losing a couple of players they will still be the team to beat so getting one up on Chelsea now not only sends a message to them but to the rest of the league that we mean business.

I’m not really a man for superstition but 4 of the last 5 winners of the Community Shield have gone on to win the league so that’s maybe a factor too. I hope we go at Chelsea on Sunday and get the win, start as you mean to go on I say!

Bollocks. If we give everyone a run out and come away with a good performance with no injuries the game will be a success. The chavs will want to win it more than fergie does.

Remember the fella who said “you dont win anything with kids”, we taught him and we do it again. We have alot to be excited about with upcoming season especially with talent like Chicharito, Cleverley, Kiko, Gibbo, Da Silva twins, Obertan and the Evan bro’s, put them with likes of Wazza, Giggs, Scholes, Nani, Fletch, Valencia, Vida, Evra and not forgetting our genius leader Sir Alex and we have a team capable of beating anyone in the world. We want our title back and if we keep these lads fit, we walk it.
