Sir Alex has reaffirmed his position on transfers again claiming that no further signings will be made.

He has again stated there is no value in the market (with James Milner being valued at £30m you can see what he is saying) and that he is happy with his current crop of players.

With just 3 weeks left looks like these fantastic signings we have been linked with are just fables!

Sir Alex is also considering breaking his boycott of the BBC next season.

Sir Alex was offended by a 2004 documentary from the television network that implied various shady transfer related things about his son Jason Ferguson. Yet under increasing pressure from the LMA and the Premier League with threat of punishment Sir Alex may be forced to break his vow of silence.

The importance of Javier Hernandez is again being talked up.

The Guardian are questioning whether his addition to the squad will be enough to see United regain the title. They also look at  other things including the Green & Gold movement as well as spending during the transfer window.

As reported yesterday Mame Biram Diouf has now officially joined Blackburn on loan for the season and will possibly play today against Celtic in a friendly whilst rising starlet Joshua King has joined Fergie Jr and Matty James at Preston until November. There are high hopes for the Norweigian so there will be a lot of eyes on him during his spell at the Deepdale and he could see playing time as early as today against Doncaster. Danny Welbeck’s move to Sunderland is yet to be confirmed as of posting.

Mesut Ozil at 12m-15m not value ? You’re having us on Fergie. I know he likes to lead the media a merry dance but we really need another midfielder and with one of the best young players in world football seemingly available and at a knock down price this surely is an opportunity not to be missed.

Sorry Chudi but you have your facts wrong! It was NOT Darren BUT Jonathan who the BBC ‘implied various shady transfer related things’.
I hope you will amend the error asap?

Nice one mate just realised my mistake, thanks for pointing it out the documentary focused on Jason not Darren.

Don’t need Ozil as midfield strong enough to beat the europe best already. The german isn’t all that, what he did for Bremen and Germany means nothin with us as he could easily buckle to pressure as a Utd player and be another Djemba Djemba or Kleberson, beside i for one rate Cleverley far better. Hoping King, Danny, Diouf and James do extremely well on loan and come back stronger players for it. I heard Marriner to ref tomorrow’s game, well that means we lost before game even begun.

@as, although Cleverley has had a decent pre season i’m not sure we should be getting too excited just yet…a great prospect he is i do not believe he is quite in the same league as Ozil presently.

Id love Cleverley to kick on and get 20 games under his belt this season, what’s Cleverley’s best position as?

  6. Chudi Onwuazor says:

@Johnboy Cleverley’s versatility is one of his saving graces can be played centrally or on the wing. From what I’ve seen could do OK in a 3 man midfield.

I wouldn’t put Cleverley in Ozil’s bracket at the mo as Ozil has done well on a bigger stage whilst Cleverley has shone in the Championship. Both are still young so this isn’t to say Cleverley can’t catch or surpass Ozil.

Can’t fault your vision John, i just don’t see the fuss with Ozil as it only 7games and he was average at Bremen last yr, Muller on other hand really stood out for Germany and ran the show. Cleverley did extremely well at leicester and watford, plus was brill when went africa in 2008, he tore Valencia to shreds last yr and was excellent in the usa, next big thing in my opinion.

I think Cleverley best from a winger position as it allows him to express self but in central midfield he is dangerous and have an eye for goal, the lad have pace and skill to rip apart any defence and i believe we will see alot from him over the coming years.

  9. Chudi Onwuazor says:

I think he was a little better than average last season looking beyond stats. As you may or may not know we did a write up on him here before the WC started as we picked him to shine and a lot of that was because he looked decent during the season.

I agree with your point AS he could come here and fold but thats what sets good players apart and I think we would expect him to come here and perform as we have him down as a good player.

You make a good case for Cleverley too and it should be remembered that he is only 20 and has years left to get better and staying at Old Trafford and having the players he does around him will help that.

Valid statement Chud, but the future is really the only thing that will tell us of what is to be, exciting times await.
