Count that as another season down the drain as Liverpool’s Jamie Carragher has conceded defeat in the title race after just 3 games! Mr Liverpool has asserted that although they can have ago,

“I don’t see any reason why we can’t win a trophy this season or the next couple.’

Liverpool will have a tough task ahead of them in trying to claim the title (and judging off their performance against City he isn’t wrong),

“The one I haven’t won is the league but I suppose that will be very difficult this season going from seventh last season.”

Well when a man considered Liverpool through and through is saying stuff like that what hope do you have eh? 10 0ut of 10 for honesty though even if we already knew this.

Here’s a little tip Jamie, Liverpool will do better if you stop scoring own goals:

Some things will never cease to entertain, such as Liverpool’s general failure as a team (albeit with one exception) in the modern football era.

They should be better competition with Meireles, but it really only gives them a chance at the top 4, but they won’t collect any silverware.

Both our clubs can celebrate the past, but I don’t think we have much in common for the present and future though!

Liverpool are pretty much the architects of their own failure. I understand the need for home grown players but signing Konchesky isn’t a good move neither is replacing Mascherano who grudgingly I will call the best DM in the world with Poulsen.

Even having a look at some of their youngsters like Spearing etc and their isn’t any hope!

For the record, I only thought they had a good chance at the top 4 in my preseason predictions IF they held onto their best players. Now, I’d only give them an outside chance, and that’s if their few quality players are miraculously injury free for the entire season.

Their team from 2 years ago probably the best they had in 20 years and they still didn’t win the EPL. Now they have Poulsen and Meireles in place of Masch and Alonso in central midfield, Carragher and even Gerrard are slipping past their prime and none of their young players are showing much promise.

Oh well, maybe Carragher is one of those “glass half full” guys who thinks bronze looks close enough to gold.

makes a change, those fools usually claim their going to win the league but after 2-decades, maybe it finally sunk home that they will never be english champions again…well for the long term future anyways, jamie needs watch his words as i dont believe they with that useless bunch will reach a sf, trophyless year number 5 for the scousers.
