In case you haven’t noticed we here at The Busby Way have a not so secret man crush on Magnus Eikrem. The Norweigan is simply class and last night he showed why we have been keeping a shrine of him here including a lock of his hair and a used tissue.

He pulled the strings as United put on a sumptuous second half show scoring 4 goals in the 45 minutes, Nicky Ajose grabbing a hat trick whilst John Cofie continued his good form slamming one in for good measure.

Thanks to Red Force Rising for making us aware of the footage.

The Norwegian wonderboy was unbelievable last night…we needed someone special to step forward, to impose himself on the game, to take control and make things happen, and who stepped up…the magnificent Eikrem, he was instructmental in everythink and claimed 3 assists to cap off a motm display…hopefully we see him soon in the first team, he really is a special talent.

THANK YOU! When i missed this match yesterday and heard the reports of Eikrems performance I knew this was the only place i’d see his highlights. Thats why i even started following on twitter lol Anyway ive liked this kid for sometime now, unfortunately for me when i first came to appreciate his talents he was inured and wasnt playing for quite a while, couple of years back. But i wasnt wrong, he is IMMENSE in every sense of the word. He will be a legend in the same mold as Scholes.

Definitely is the real deal Johnboy, and nice to have you here Marvin send us a message on Twitter and if we aren’t following you we will

how about ajose, were do we stand?

just cant see any forwards given the opportunity to make the grade with the current crop of forwards!?

cofie is looking tasty this season

  8. Chudi Onwuazor says:

Ajose looks the stuff this season, still young and learning but looks like he has handled the step up well and seems like if you play him in an attacking capacity he will do well

  9. Rohit says:

Eikrem should have got a look in against scunthorpe, particularly when we were 4 up..Would have been a real morale booster..This kid is so much better than gibson that its a real no brainer..
Ajose is speedily coming up the ranks..Not flashy but really effective, he has pace to burn and a good goal return..Effectively a left winger, he can play further forward as shown yesterday..Also he’s genuinely two footed..Heard he is one of the best trainers at youth level..

“Chudi and Magnus, sitting in a tree, K-I-…”

I agree with Rohit, would’ve liked to see him play this week, but I trust his time will come. I’m not against Gibson, but his lack of passing ability makes me question his viability. However, the guy can score and that can’t be taken lightly. Fletcher took a long time to show that he had more than one special attribute, and his passing last weekend showed development continues will into the 20’s.

Magnus is only 20 though, and there will be no problems in finding opportunities if he keeps this up. Can’t wait to see more of him on TV, rather than just highlights on the internet.
