Dimitar Berbatov looks a changed player this term. With goals added to his silky smooth skills, the Bulgarian was named the PFA’s player of the month for September.

And whilst the talent has always been there it, people haven’t always recognised this but one person that has is Inter Milan’s Champions League winning defender Lucio. The Brazilian who played with Berbatov at Bayer Leverkusen said of the striker:

“With the natural ability that guy has with a football we could be talking about him being the world player of the year this season,” said Lucio. “I’ve played with Kaka, Ronaldinho, Wesley Sneijder – and Berbatov is as naturally gifted as any of them. It took him time to adjust at Manchester United but, once he did, I was always confident he would hit this sort of form. I think we have just started to see the best from him. He is now entering his peak years and I am sure he will get better and better with every game this season.”

Lofty praise from a top defender, lets hope his words come to fruition!

Lucio is 100% right! Berbatov is an absolute magician on the football pitch and I can only see him getting better and better as the season progresses. And a quick message to all the Rooney haters! Just remember that he is already one of the best strikers in the worls at only 24 years old! Those that believe his best years are behind him either have no idea about football or are just plain stupid!! Quality always shines through and this will be evident when he starts scoring again. Rooney and Berbatov will tear defences apart very shortly and I hope all the Rooney haters eat their words! Up the Red Devils!!!

  4. Cuzzy says:

Hey gameboy, we saw how Messi ripped Hercules apart in La Liga not so long ago. What was the score? Barca lost 2-0. Tell me another joke?

  5. GallasOfChelsea says:

No doubt Berba’s a class act. I only wish he could have the Psyche to play games like some of the talents mentioned above. A bit of energetic performances, mixed with the zeal needed to win games like the one against Sunderland last weekend will make these comparisons more real. He needs to start taking responsibility at United, only then will he surely start appearing in the top 5 players of the year shortlist.

But gameboy143 Ronaldinho, Messi, and Kaka have already rip Man U ass… haha

Berbaflop ain’t doing shit, Rooney ain’t doing shit, and Man U ain’t definitely doing shit. Barca would kill Man U right now, haha

  7. ISS says:

Gameboy and JT – now i suppose you lot are probably arsenal, liverpool or chelsea fans..if your arsenal fans – then we destroy u everytime we play you..liverpool – how about you get into a competition where you can play against the likes of the players mentioned..chelsea – urmm wasn’t it barcelona that noked u out of champions league..and it wernt even messi..thats saying something about you lot..berba has class and just needs to take the game on more..and rooney will hit form soon..thats what everyone will fear..it will be the yorke and cole partnership we have missed all these years!!

So who hasn’t Messi ‘ripped’ because regardless of who you support I can assure you he has or will ‘rip’ your team.

Let’s not forget 07/08 we faced Barca + Messi in the CL semis I remember it was us that went to Moscow not him!

  9. redz says:

berb is no good ,he scored a few goals so far this season and now he is de best player in de world. two seasons previous he was absolutely useless, cop on manure

  10. Paulfrom NY says:

Imagine if we had kept Tevez and bought Van Der Vaart instead of Bebe?? Tevez/Berba/Rooney striker axis would have been best in world in my humble opinion.

Thank God Berba is coming into his own!!!! The ManU boards are littered with fans who were ready to give up on berba if he didn’t come good this year!!!!!
