After much speculation, Federico Macheda has moved to Italy to join Sampdoria on-loan from Manchester United for the rest of the season.
The 19-year-old had been rumoured to be in high demand, with several Premier League clubs interested after Sir Alex Ferguson had made it known that the youngster would be available.
However, Italy had been Macheda’s preferred destination and it is believed that it was the chance of fighting for an immediate place in tandem with Giampaolo Pazzini that swayed the decision for the young Italian.
