Liverpool roll into town with Kenny Dalglish at the head of the caravan hoping their messiah will be able to reverse their fortunes.

But if there was a worse game he could have started off on I can’t find it as United, despite cruising, don’t seem in the mood to play games. Sir Alex has vowed to field a strong team in an effort to avoid a repeat of last season’s shock defeat to Leeds at this stage of the competition.

Whilst the team is strong, there are notable absentees in the form of Rooney, Vidic and van der Sar meaning Jonny Evans starts whilst Hernandez and Kuszczak retains their places.

Starting XI: Kuszczak; Rafael, Ferdinand, J. Evans, Evra; Nani, Carrick, Fletcher, Giggs; Berbatov, Hernandez

Subs: Lindegaard, Owen, Anderson, Smalling, Fabio, Obertan, Gibson

seriously; Fergie must be on drugs;. Kuszczak is a calamity waiting to happen; why on earth add on J. Evans who hasn’t had a single decent performance this season. I was very confident about this game until I saw that both those two are playing.

Perhaps they are forced changes ever thought of that?

VDS has been out for a couple games so he coud still be ill/injured. I’m not aware of why Vida isn’t playing but I would hope he isn’t being rested.
