Manchester United took on Portsmouth in the FA Youth Cup earlier this week and after a tense ending, emerged victorious.

With appearances from both Keane brothers, van Velzen, Tunnicliffe, Cofie and Pogba this was a strong line up and it showed as United.

Portsmouth went into the game with a record of 1 win, 1 draw and 11 defeats and it looked like the night wouldn’t be any easier after Pogba scored an early wonder striker, their keeper made a huge gaff for the second and Will Keane appeared to wrap it up with a third but it wasn’t done and 2 late goals from Ryan Williams ensured a nervy ending.

Next up for United is West Ham on Wednesday the 19th at Upton Park. West Ham saw off Aldershot 5-0 in the last round so United will not be allowed any lapse late or otherwise!

Keep saying Pogba De Laet Cofie good enough for the first team now. Also need at least one foreign Coach.

  2. Chudi says:

We have a ‘foreign coach’ in Rene Meulensteen and whilst De Laet maybe ready and has played in the first team, who would you have him displace?

Pogba and Cofie look great but aren’t ready yet, don’t be fooled by their size there is still much both can learn at academy as well as reserve level that will put the in better stead to succeed when they final do step up to the first team.
