Liverpool earned a measure of revenge in Monday’s u18 tie by beating Manchester United.

Just weeks after our fiery FAYC encounter, the two sides went head to head but this time it would be Liverpool who triumphed, running out 2-1 winners at Carrington.

With one eye on this Sunday’s FAYC semi final against Chelsea, we didn’t field our strongest team whilst Liverpool too missed some of their starlets.

Striker Adam Morgan, who got a brace in the last game, again got onto the score sheet, his 10th goal in succession, to give Liverpool the lead on the 23rd minute but a fine flick and a cool finish from Tom Lawrence gave him his third in 4 games and put United back on equal terms 10 minutes later.

The game was to be decided in the first half though when Alberto Massacci put past Conor Devlin following pressure from former United trialist Michael Ngoo.

United had chances to draw level, none more spectacular than Charni Ekangemene’s volley that was superbly saved whilst Adorjan hit the post for Liverpool but it was to finish 2-1 to the visitors.
