Given the events of this week, stumbling upon this video seems ever so convenient.

Getting into and competing in Europe is something I take for granted.

In all the time I can recall watching United we have played in Europe, having just conquered Chelsea in the Champions League quarterfinal and with Schalke coming up in the semi we are favourites to get to the final at Wembley.

This would make it our third final in 4 years but there was a time when Europe wasn’t as simple a task as it seems today.

This documentary charts United’s first foray into Europe, a time when places were at a premium and only the champions of the land played.

With accounts from people that would have seen it first hand, the players and Sir Matt Busby himself this documentary from the 90s is definitely one to watch.
