Former Manchester United winger and full-back Eddie Lewis has died at the age of 76 in South Africa after a long battle with cancer.

Lewis was also one of the original Busby Babes at Manchester United and made 24 appearances during the 1950’s, scoring 11 goals.

He also went on to play for Preston North End and West Ham United.

Lewis emigrated to South Africa in 1970 and spent time as a coach of Wits University, Kaizer Chiefs, Giant Blackpool, Moroka Swallows, Manning Rangers, Free State Stars and had his last job at AmaZulu. He also worked as an analyst for the TV sports station Supersport and also for PA Sports.

He died on Monday in Johannesburg after a long and unfortunate battle with cancer.

RIP Busby Babe.
