Preparation is key to success, this is something I’m sure Sir Alex Ferguson will be quick to tell you.

So although the summer is yet to officially start you can be certain Sir Alex has already mapped out how he will spends the months between the end of this season and the start of the next.

Last night Club chief executive put fans on high alert with comments he made at the club’s award ceremony when he claimed that this summer ‘will be slightly busier than normal’.

With this already said Sir Alex went on to expand by claiming:

“We have some ideas in mind, hopefully we can get them put in place.

“We have Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes coming towards the end of their careers, Gary Neville has already retired and Edwin van der Sar is retiring, so there are holes we want to plug up in terms of the safety and security of the team for the next few years.

“Of course, we have some excellent young players and a lot of them have progressed, which gives us a great, powerful squad.

“I am looking at maybe three signings which would boost our overall quality in our team.”

There have been a ton of names linked to the club already and this is likely to increase speculation about our summer targets. There has already been claims of us making a move for French youngster Raphaël Varane whilst names like David De Gea, Ashley Young and Wesley Sneijder continue to pop up.

I predict much muppetry this summer!

Have you seen our gallery of United’s 19 titles?

Well hopefully not as much muppetry futility as last summer! It would be funny/embarassing just to take a look all the posts and comments (including mine) of speculation that resulted in the single summer signing of Bebe.

I depart these shores in two weeks time, for 4 months, so it matters not to me the innocent warblings of transfer talk.I like to watch and wonder at peoples various thoughts on players and their knowledge of those players. To a mere novice like me, its fun and totaly armless….Moi speaks body language fluently, although with a slight French accent.Bonjour.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Ashley Young and Scott Parker in the United line up. Rodwell to provide a nice tonic for the Hargreaves whimsical merry-go-round. Beyond that I’d love to see the likes of Pogba, Cleverly, King, and Welbeck make a step up., Please don’t shoot me for not mentioning Macheda, I find him to be way too comfortable to want to be a great player. A Manchester United player.
