With all this talk of Man City getting ready to subvert the natural order in Manchester and in the league, it’s good to hear Roberto Mancini put the massive club back in their place by reminding their fans it’s United and not City who are number 1!
City have been on a rise since their take over by the Abu Dhabi consortium and last season broke a 35 year barren spell by winning the FA Cup.
The guarantee of European football as well as the signing of quality players means that they are further likely to be mixing it with the big boys but Mancini’s words will act as a reality check for anybody getting carried away,
“Manchester United at the moment are on top.
“They are a strong team, they won the Barclays Premier League and have bought four or five good players.
“I think we are very close but at the moment they are above us.”
