Darron Gibson has completed his move to Everton for an undisclosed transfer fee which is believed to be around £2 million.

The 24 year old put pen on paper to keep him with David Moyes’ side until 2016.

Gibson, who is a product of the Manchester United youth system, has failed to impress since his advancement into the first team.

The Northern Ireland born midfielder has had 17 international caps with Republic of Ireland. Although limited to two starts for Manchester United this season,  he made 60 appearances for the Champions in his time at the club, scoring 10 goals in the process.

Gibson said upon completion of his transfer:

“It’s a different challenge for me. With Manchester United you’re winning every week, playing well every week.

“Coming to Everton, a great club, they don’t win as many as Manchester United but it’s a great challenge.

“I think it was time for me to move on and I think Everton is the right club for me to be at.

“I think it was the right time for me to leave with Euro 2012 coming up I need to play games as I need to get in the Republic of Ireland team. Being here and playing every week will give me the opportunity to play for Ireland as well.”

A good deal for everyone, especially for Gibson as he has joined a good club. A fee of £2 million is a decent return for a player with 6 months left on his contract. Everton have got a hard working player who will score goals and prove to be a good squad player. Good luck to Gibson but I think Man Utd was too big for him. He will do well to be successful with Everton and forge out a good career with them.

We now need to continue the clear out, which should include Thomas Kuszchak, who we will hopefully get around £1-2 million for as well. It looks like Ravel Morrison will also be leaving and hopefully we will get a similar deal to the one Tottenham got for Adel Taraabt, which included a 40% sell on fee. Morrison is an idiot and a dumb youngster and we are better off. No amount of talent can make up for stupidity.

We also need to find a buyer for Mame Diouf and we will hopefully get around £3-4 million for him. I think we might be better off selling Pogba as well if he has no intention of staying. These youngsters have decided to chase the money. Pogba and Morrison don’t realise that we won’t give them a chance when they won’t even commit their future to us. They want money then they should go.

@Tom I still hope we can keep Pogba and get him to sign a new contract. He is a top player and should have been given some more chances. I would say that against Blackburn we should have played Pogba, and not Rafeal in the centre of midfield. He can develop alongside Cleverley.

It seems inevitable that Morrison will be leaving now, which is a shame but not a surprise. I think we are better of without him. How much can you do for a troubled young man. We had grounds to sack and release him a year ago, but now his agent makes crazy wage demands, rather than be grateful he has an offer in the first place.

Other guys like Kuszczak and Diouf should be sold as well if we get acceptable offers. Gibson has done well to join Everton and good luck to him.

I wish Gibson well, but am not too sad to see him leave.I hope that Pogba stays and Morrison too. I would like to see Pogba play today.
However, if these 2 are to leave we are certainly looking increasingly thin in midfield. I hope for investment in this area sooner rather than later.

Daron is one of those players who has talent and potential, but at UTD, theren’t enough chance for him. He’s lack in confident like Carrick before.
I like his style. will keep an eye on this guy coz

I don’t think that this has anything to do with Gibson being good enough for us but more to do with a personal spat with SAF

    ps….
there will soon be a policy in place that only over 35s can play for us.
