Former star has paid tribute to the resurgent as press to retain their league crown.

Fortune, who frequents Carrington, has seen first hand the work Valencia has put in to over come injury and feels since returning this season, the Ecuadorian has more than proved himself a valuable asset to United’s title charge.

Whilst comparisons have been made between Valencia and former wing wizard Andrei Kanchelskis, Fortune has gone left field and likened him to another current hero:

“Antonio has been unbelievable since he came back.

“He has been the man of the match for in the last three matches and is getting his rewards for all the work he has done to get fit.

“But the thing about Antonio is that he is so quiet. He is a bit like in that respect; comes in, trains and goes home, back to the quiet life.

“Even when he scores, he doesn’t celebrate. But he does win games, that is why the boss likes him so much.”
