I assume that it is OK to like Paul Pogba again, now he appears to be close to signing a new deal.

The French youngster made his first appearance for United since his cameo against Stoke, and in the 20 or so minutes he was given on Sunday he put in a calm and measured performance.

He is still yet to show the razzmatazz that has wowed so many people at academy and reserve level, but I personally think it is better that he wets his feet rather than jumps straight in.

On Sunday he showed a maturity in his play rather than the anxiety of a young player who may be keen to impress, and thus try the spectacular.

He needs to sign now but because he WANTS to play for Utd and not just because he is being talked in to it otherwise he will only be off in a couple of years anyway. If he can’t put pen to paper by the end of the week we should show him the door!!
