Despite a tough last few games, Danny Welbeck has enjoyed a solid first season.

With 11 goals, his latest coming last Sunday against Aston Villa, Welbeck’s performances have been acknowledged with a place on the PFA’s Young Player Of The Year list.

And PFA chief Gordon Taylor has backed Welbeck’s inclusion on the list declaring that he is benefitting from being at the best place possible for his career:

“To be at a club like Manchester United and to have the benefit from playing with players like Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes, along with Ryan Giggs, can only bring confidence.

“When you get the type of service that team can provide for a striker, he is in the very best place for his career at this moment in time.

“Everything is looking good.”

It may sound weird to some United fans but he’s better than chicharito when it comes to overall gameplay. I mean i still believe that chicha make the best runs in the BPL between the defenders but welbeck have been solid this season. Some criticized him for not scoring enough and not taking his chances properly but let’s face it…the number of goals in which he takes part, his understanding with wazza, his determination…just awesome!. And well right now he’s the best young striker in England. Period.
