Apparent Manchester United target Shinji Kagawa has stated any decision on his future will be made at the end of the season.

The Japanese attacker confirmed he would not be signing a new deal with German champions Borussia Dortmund, so they will be looking to cash in on him this summer.

He has been strongly linked with United, with some sources stating a £7m deal has already been tied up, but Kagawa himself has denied these claims stating his focus is on winning the German Cup final against Bayern Munich and only after that will he decide on his destination.

Speaking to German daily Bild, Kagawa said:

“I have not taken a decision just now.

“I will only decide after the match against Bayern Munich and it will be after long discussions with my agent.”

A number of other clubs are said to be interested in the 23 year old including Arsenal and Chelsea so it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

If Monday showed us anything, it was that we really need to revamp the team and get some new players. Ferguson has done fantastic to get this group challenging but sadly they look to have thrown it away. Slackness and carelessness has been running through this team all season. The last 10 min against Everton summed this team up really.

Ferguson will be honest hopefully and realise that he needs to bring in possibly 5-6 news players. We will also need to get rid of a few players.

The first player is Shinji Kagawa who is an interesting player. He doesn’t fit into the style we have been playing, but it might be time for us to change our system to utilise more creative and effective players. Kagawa is effectively an attacking midfielder but not a 4-4-2 player. He would play behind Rooney, or as one of the attackers in a 4-3-3 formation. He has been terrific in Germany and has won two titles. The commercial benefits of buying the star of Japan will be obvious.

The second player we should be going for is James Rodriguez and he has been heavily linked with us as well. He has been terrific for FC Porto and looks like one of the worlds top young players at the moment. He is predominately a a left sided player but he has played in the middle as well. He has talent like Ronaldo and Man Utd badly miss his type of x-factor in the team. There’s been a lot of talk about Hazard, but Man Utd should go for Rodriguez instead.

The third player we should sign is Axel Witsel as he is a strong box to box midfielder. We need more energy and a defensive minded midfielder and Witsel can do that job for us. He is more than a traditional defensive midfielder and is a bit like Yaya Toure in that he can play both roles well and be effective on the pitch.

The fourth player should be Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa who is one of the top young defenders in Europe. He can play across the whole back four and would be a great addition to our team, especially as we also have injuries in defence every season. Yanga-Mbiwa is a strong and athletic defender and would do well in England, and for £7 million he would be a bargain.

The fifth signing should be Nathaniel Clyne as we need another right back to challenge Rafeal. He is a young defender and is English. He has been the top right back in the Championship since he was 18.

I would be delighted with Kagawa, Rodriguez, Wisel, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Clyne. These 5 player s would strengthen us greatly and they are all young players as well. They would strengthen our midfield greatly through Witsel, Kagawa and Rodriguez and give more energy and creativity. The defence would have more options, especially at full back through Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Clyne.

We should let Berbatov, Anderson, Park, Macheda, Owen, Scholes, De Laet and Kuschazak all leave the club. I think Pogba will leave for Juventus anyway. Scholes has been terrific since returning but we need to move on and finally solve the issue of midfield. Park has been a great servant for the club, but his time has come to an end now.

Tom I can see where your coming from. A lot of the players you talk off have been linked to us this week.

I think the key is the change of formation that I think will happen next season. We play 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 formation at the moment. I think next season Ferguson will change this and introduce 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.

The players we target will need to help us change to a more solid but fluid team again. Rooney is the key and he can play as a number 10 or a number 9. I think in the big games we will use him as a number 9. This means getting a play-maker like Shinji Kagawa who can operate behind and create and score goals.

I didn’t know James Rodriguez much but he looks a star in the making, He has done really well for FC Porto and has been heavily linked with Man Utd. He has even come out and said he would like to play for us. I like Eden Hazard but he looks to be joining Man City. I think we should get Rodriguez because he looks just as good, even if he is the more unknown player.

We badly need to get a solid midfielder an Axel Witsel is a good shout. He is a talent and would provide balance in terms of defending and attacking. Javi Garcia is another player who could do well but he is more defensive.

I agree with @Tom over the players that should leave. Ferguson has also spoken of a few youngsters going out on loan and that is a good idea.

Shinji Kagawa told Japanese TV that he is signing for Manchester United in the summer. We still need a few more signings I think.

I read the comments above and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa seems an interesting player. I think though we should look to sign Leighton Baines if there is a chance. He has been the best left back in the league this season and would be a good replacement for Paddy Evra.

We need a creative player like Gaitan or Hazard. I have no clue about this Rodriguez fella but we need some attacking quality in midfield.

  4. John says:

We should sign Shinji Kagawa (£7 million), Marouane Fellaini (£17 million), Nathaniel Clyne (£2.5 million) and James Rodriguez (£20 million).

Marouane Fellaini is similar to Axel Witsel but has experience of the Premiership already. He is the type of box to box midfielder we are crying out for. He has the potential to be like Yaya Toure. We need a strong midfielder who can protect the defence and support in attack.

We need to sell Berbatov, Anderson, Park and Macheda. We should release Owen and Kuszczak. I agree with Tom in that Pogba looks bound for Juventus so he is gone.

  5. leigh says:

I agree with you too and this signings are just within our budget but lets not deny a new attacker is needed too we always have 4 strikers everytime ,rooney needs rest and welbeck too,we need a striker that can score from in n outside d box-and i think we should go for cissokho d guys got stamina and strength and is already in d france national team. on a one on one he is faster and stronger than leigh baines. leigh baines is fantastic at everton but i doubt his man marking

Uniteds new signings for next season. Fletcher, Vidic, Owen and Pogba.

    Glazernomics!

Maybe a couple of young prospects bought with the money made from the sale of Park and Dimi.

    Bad times.
