A team of Manchester United legends were beaten by Real Madrid at the Bernabeau last night.

The match, which saw appearances from Van Der Sar, Cole, Sheringham as well as Zidane, Figo and Fernando Morientes, was held in aid of Real’s Foundation academies in Africa and with such a host of stars turning out, the action didn’t disappoint.

Morientes gave Real the lead after 7 minutes but Lee Sharpe restored parity just 2 minutes later.

Luis Figo restored Real’s lead almost instantly and Fernando Redondo would go on to grabbed Real’s 3rd after Sheringham missed a penalty.

Sheringham would make up for his miss from 12 yards later on as he scored United’s second after being played in by Andy Cole, but United were unable to draw level with a 3rd goal.

The ‘second leg’ of the Corazon Classic will be played next summer at Old Trafford and hopefully will be just as entertaining as last night’s game!
