Manchester United kick off their preseason tonight with the first of two games in South Africa.
Our first game in South Africa since 2008, United face AmaZulu in what will be a highly charged match given that it is taking place on Mandela day, a holiday to mark the birth of the great Nelson Mandela.
Sir Alex confirmed in yesterday’s presser that there would be a place for youth in his teams this summer, and he has kept true to his word with reserves Robbie Brady, Fred Veseli, Scott Wootton and Jesse Lingard all starting.
New boys Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell are both on the bench along with Davide Petrucci and Tyler Blackett and new #7 Antonio Valencia.
Starting XI: Lindegaard, Brady, Ferdinand, Veseli, Wootton, Carrick, Lingard, Scholes, Macheda, Hernandez, Berbatov
Subs: Johnstone, Vermijl, Blackett, Petrucci, Tunnicliffe, Powell, Valencia, Anderson, Kagawa, Bebe
Not entirely happy
can see macheda being pushed out to wings when really need to see hw well he can perform upfront…
Quite a competitive match in the end. I was impressed with Jesse Lingard. A 19 year year midfielder who is bright and has energy. I would like to see more of him during this pre-season. Ferguson might not be going for a new central midfielder because of this kid.
We have Carrick, Cleverley, Scholes, Anderson and Giggs. Ferguson may believe someone like Jesse Lingard is who he needs to complement this group. I always love seeing our own young players break through and this boy seems highly rated.
Rooney asked Scholes did the boss just say shaka zule or shag a zulu,
hope rooney gets fucking nits he is a muff diving scouser
Go fuck your arab owners you blue scum twat
where is will keane?
Knee injury, has him out for around 9 months
This weekly pool asking would we sell rooney for £120m and the answer would be we would even throw in fergy and the rest of the scum
