Whilst some people were surprised that Arsenal sold Robin Van Persie to Manchester United, the striker’s decision to move to Manchester did not surprise one United player.

Van Persie was wanted by a host of clubs but ultimately decided on Manchester United, and Ryan Giggs feels that a club of Manchester United’s magnitude will always be an attractive prospect to big players as he told ManUtd.com:

“It [the van Persie signing] sends out a big message.

“And it’s great when a player comes out and says he wants to come to the club as well.

“I’m biased but players should want to come to United because you’re always guaranteed to be up there challenging for trophies, there’s a great team spirit, top facilities and you get to play for a great manager.

“There are so many plus points.”

Sorry who were the host of clubs in for RVP?

Last time I checked there was only one club that in AW’s own words put in “a serious” offer.

Much depends on whether Man U’S talisman, Howard Webb, is fit!
