It appears injuries aren’t exclusive to our back line as the curse has befallen midfielder Shinji Kagawa.

The Japanese midfielder has been adamant  that he needs to improve in order to thrive at Manchester United, but will have to wait 4 weeks to do so after being sidelined with a knee injury.

Kagawa appeared to be in some discomfort after a challenge in Tuesday’s game against Braga at Old Trafford and was withdrawn at half time.

Whilst some thought it was just precautionary, it has been revealed today by Sir Alex that Kagawa had infact suffered a similar knee injury to Ashley Young’s:

“It’s a knee injury similar to the one Young had, I think playing on with the injury did not help.

“It’s disappointing.”

On a brighter note Sir Alex confirmed Chris Smalling is now back in full training, whilst Phil Jones will start training on Monday.
