The agent of PSV Eindhoven midfielder Kevin Strootman has claimed that he has been in contact with Manchester United and other European clubs in regards to a transfer for his client.

Strootman has constantly been linked with a move away from the Dutch club after impressing in his brief spell at PSV, with some suggesting he would join United this summer.

PSV have denied that they have any plans to sell the 22 year old they signed just over a year ago, but his agent Chiel Dakker has other plans and revealed that he has been contacted by a host of clubs keen to acquire the services of the mifielder.

Speaking to talkSport, Dakker revealed:

“All the top clubs in Europe know about Kevin, but a move to England next summer is his first priority and, yes, Manchester United and other big clubs in Europe have been in touch with me.”

Strootman’s stock continues to rise and Holland manager Louis Van Gaal named him as captain for the Oranje’s recent World Cup qualifiers. Whilst there may be some truth in Dakker’s claims, I can’t be the only person that thinks he is just trying to drum up interest in his player?
