Ruud Van Nistelrooy won’t be taking sides when Manchester United clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League next season, instead the striker who turned out for both sides will stay neutral.
Van Nistelrooy spent 5 years at Old Trafford becoming a firm fan favourite with his goal scoring feats, finding the net 150 times in 219 games before moving to the Bernabeu.
Whilst he struggled with injuries in Spain he was still able to continue his impressive goal scoring record, winning the Pichichi in his first season as he scored 64 goals in his four seasons in Spain.
After United were drawn with Real Madrid in the Champions League this morning the Dutch striker tweeted:
United or Madrid.. Who do I want to win? Played my heart out for them both. Proud to have played for both. #impossible #MayTheBestTeamWin.
