In one of the most obvious pieces of news today, Celtic’s Victor Wanyama has confirmed he will not be leaving Scotland during this transfer window.
Wanyama had been linked with a move to Old Trafford and a number of media outlets claimed United were preparing to make a move for the Kenyan today, but with just hours to go it would seem pretty unlikely that a deal could be arranged in time before the window closed.
Wanyama has revealed himself to be a United fan in numerous interviews and was watched by Sir Alex earlier this month, so whilst he has stated he will remain at Celtic for now during the interview with the Daily Record, he didn’t rule out a move away from Celtic Park at the end of the season:
“I can confirm to you that I will be at Celtic.
“We are playing well and our Champions League dream is on right now, so I am looking forward to the big game against Juventus.
“A lot has been said about my intended move but I have not given it much thought and even my manager feels I should play until the end of the season for Celtic.
“Then, from that point, the doors can be open for a move.”
