There were a deluge of goals in Sir Alex Ferguson’s 1500th and final game as Manchester United manager, as he saw his side draw 5-5 with West Brom.
Given a guard of honour by both sides prior to the game, Sir Alex saw his side get off to flier with Kagawa, an Olsen own goal and Buttner giving United a 3-1 lead at half time. But after the break West Brom continued to build on Morrison’s first half goal and Lukaku made it 3-2.
It appeared goals from Van Persie and Hernandez had made the game safe for United, but 2 more goals from Lukaku as well as a Mulumbu effort saw the game finish 5-5.
The result was inconsequential though and couldn’t spoil Sir Alex’s final hurrah. Instead it will stand as a testament to the fact that United have constantly provided entertainment and drama especially under the Scot.
