Davdi Moyes has his eye on Luke Shaw

David Moyes is thought to be looking at Southampton’s Luke Shaw as he begins his spell as Manchester United manager.

The 17 year old follows Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain as graduates from Southampton’s academy to earn rave reviews and catch the eye of the Premier League’s big boys.

It was thought Chelsea were lining up the 17 year old as a replacement for Ashley Cole, and Arsenal have been linked with the full back too but Moyes is ready to swoop and snap up the Chelsea supporting left back.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Moyes will make Shaw his first signing, but with Patrice Evra enjoying a solid season, Alexander Buttner as back up and Fabio returning from loan at QPR, United are already well stocked in terms of left backs.

Shaw has previously insinuated that he is happy at St Mary’s and when he turns 18 in July it is believed he will sign an improved deal, so any move for the England youth international could hit a snag.
