Last week the club confirmed that Penarol’s Gillermo Varela had agreed to join Manchester United.
The Uruguayan youth international joined the club in a deal worth £1.6m with add ons, and here he is signing his new deal. Speaking to the club’s official website the right back said:
“I’m very pleased to be a part of this club, one of the best teams in the world.
“As everyone in the world knows, this is a huge club that has won everything and I really hope that continues.
“I’m very lucky there are quite a few Spanish-speakers here. It will certainly help me settle in.”
Before turning out for United, the 20 year old will be partaking in the u20 World Cup in Turkey starting at the end of the month.
