Julian Draxler dreams of playing for Manchester United

Schalke starlet and German International Julian Draxler has told press that he ‘dreams’ of playing for Manchester United.

Despite the 19 year old signing a new deal earlier this year, it appears that he may be leaving Schalke with Borussia Dortmund looking to take him from their rivals.

But from Draxler’s comments to Sport 1 if he does leave the Veltins-Arena it could be to go abroad, rather than move to another club in the Bundesliga:

“Which boy doesn’t dream about playing for Real, Barca, Chelsea or Manchester United? That’s nothing to be ashamed of.”

With Draxler’s comments, his representative Roger Wittmann insists that any move will be dependent on a club activating his £38m release clause:

“The player costs 45.5 million, and he has to agree. These are the conditions of the transfer.”

With Moyes actively looking for players to bring in, Draxler isn’t a name that has been linked to the club previously. He is also a player we wouldn’t necessarily need, a luxury, so I don’t expect anything to come from his comments.
